Bullet Care

All of our products are handmade in our jewellery studio in the UK; We want your LOVEBULLETS piece to be timeless so we have developed the below guide to help you care for your product whether it be brass, gold plated, sterling silver or gold.

Bullet Brass

We treat all of our RAW Bullet Collection to a deep clean for a high shine finish before you receive your products; however, bullets are made from brass metal, which is known to tarnish over time when exposed to oxygen due to the high copper and zinc content.

The beauty of brass is that it can be worn tarnished for an edgy look or easily be polished back to the high shine finish if you prefer.

Follow these 3 simple steps to clean your brass product:

  1. Remove pollutants, dirt and oils:

Get a cup of warm water and a small quantity mild liquid detergent and use your fingers or an old toothbrush to scrub away any dirt. Once you have lathered the piece well, rinse thoroughly and make sure to dry thoroughly

  1. Polish and brighten:

There are many methods to polish or brighten brass costume jewellery; here is the non-toxic natural option using a lemon and salt which are both household items you can easily find.

Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle some salt in one half, rub the salted lemon over your piece, use an old toothbrush if needed until you brighten up the brass. Rinse away the lemon and make sure to dry thoroughly

  1. Buff and finish:

This is an optional final step to add a protective layer to your jewellery to retain the desired effect for longer. Wipe your piece with a simple brass polish which can be found at any regular supermarket, for a natural option try using olive oil.

Top tip: To avoid fast tarnishing, keep you bullet brass product away from water, remove your piece before exercising, bathing and swimming.

Our gold plated items are 18 carat gold plated over brass. Gold plate can fade over time but with good care and attention your item can stay gold for many years.

Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver is a durable and beautiful precious metal which can stand the test of time and be passed down through generations especially with the correct care and maintenance.

We offer a professional cleaning service for all sterling silver products for a small charge.

Follow these tips to maintain your sterling silver piece:

-Wear your sterling silver every day! As odd as it sounds the more you wear your sterling silver the less it will tarnish as the friction from your clothing and skin acts as a polishing tool.
